Wind on Roads

High-resolution wind forecasts at road level.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Wind resistance is the major driver of energy consumption at highway-speeds.

Atmospheric winds are important to consider.

For example, a light breeze of 10 kph results in an excess consumption of about 10%.

ROAD SAFETY

Heavy crosswinds are a concern for safety for trucks and cars.

Strong crosswinds are well resolved using Wind on Roads' high spatial resolution.
